OK so it's nearly a year away, but they've just unveiled the mascot for next year's worlds - it's a tap! ;) :p

What on God's Green Earth is that?! I would tell you what I think it is, but I would probably be banned for life from this website for perverted language.

About said mascot (wait for it, it's very good!):

A heavenly body enters Earth's gravitational field and ends up falling into the ocean. From the impact a very special creature appears. Its name is i-plash and its great mission is to make known across the planet the FINA World Championships in Barcelona 2003. For this reason i-plash dedicates himself to constantly sailing across the seven seas, also even on the Internet, where he can move like a fish through water. The blue mascot, always dressed in his swimming cap, symbolises the freshness and mobility of water

Obvious isn't it?

So obvious in fact I can't believe I thought it was a tap...

Ahem - not Spanish - Catalan!!

I sent this picture to 20 people in work and asked them to guess what it was meant to be. The answers were;

Not a clue - 11
Tap - 7
Something that I dare not repeat in mixed company - 2

Are you sure the name of the site you got the picture from didn't end in "xxx" and include words like "kinky" and "adults only"?

I'm very impressed that you got "tap" (or faucet for our trans-atlantic friends), your mates at work have excellent imaginations!

I know I shouldn't ask about the little red bit, but I'm going to. What's that little red bit? What an absolute hoot!

My family think I've completely lost it, sitting here guffawing at the computer.

Funniest thing I've seen in a long time!

Now when are they going to introduce the proper mascot?

ROFLMAO until my sides split and the crew bring me a glass of water to recover...

(:joker: or :D aren't laughing nearly hard enough!)

No, seriously, they are kidding, aren't they???!

Spirits lifted reading this thread:D
Reminds me why I like this site.
Light hearted and honest.

No, it's a three-armed boomerang with a face on it. oh and the blue cap which definitely symbolises freshness and mobilit of water.

Quite a sound name though, I-Plash
:p

This will serve as nearly as much inspiration as the thought of James Hickman hoolahooping.

That thing must have the worst kind of dynamics for moving through water... is there any direction it can travel in which is remotely streamlined? I'd like to know what its preferred stroke is, and its time over 50 free.

Well, heavens praised, if the whole world goes to pieces, at least we can rely on swimming's I-plash to save us?

You brave misguided fool.

See what they do to outsiders when they do not recognise the Catalonia as the repressed 'state'!!!

The last to do so ended up as I-PLASH.... what will they do to you???

Actually I don't think it's that bad.......in a way it looks quite friendly and fun, in a non-dodgy way that is (well unless your that type of person).
