Hello guys.

Who's going to the short course nationals in Sheffield in November?

Where are you staying, what are you swimming, what are your aims for the meet?

I'm going for definite! :D Can we take it that you are making the trek from guernsey then...

Will probably swim 100, 200 400 & 800 f/c and 100IM, depending on the programme (haven't studied it in detail yet  )

Staying with friends (a big bonus  ) and aims are (now don't laugh...I'm looking at you Baz...)
57s 100 free
midland district masters record for 800 (I think it's 9:46 or summat), although a triathlete friend of mine is also coming and will probably beat me
PB's :p
Mind you this all depends on me actually getting off my lardy ass and doing some training; so far I've done two sessions in August

Two more than me! Oops did I say that out loud?!

All I can say is if you swim 57 you'll get there before me. As for 800s, well...:joker:

not sure what to do but have to do at least one medley!
Staying at the Hilton - expensive but great fun!
Aim is not to swim fly vertical!

hopefully i'll be going as well. haven't decided yet what events to do - i've no idea how fast i am in anything (or rather how slow i am in anything)! i've got a couple of meets before then to get some times done and then i'll decide. but i expect it'll probably be 50 fly and 100IM.

I might even make it to this one myself (as well as dragging along a team). Although I'm struggling to find training time now that I've taken over as head coach at one of our local clubs, so God only knows what sort of times I'll be swimming.

I may attempt a 200m fc and splash through a 100m, though I doubt I'll go higher than that.

I will, of course, be staying at home.

See you all there, if I go.

Hopefully I am gonna go :D

Depends on how I am feeling once I start full training because it turns out I had been suffering from Glandular Fever all last season (now my performances suddenly seem quite reasonable!)

Will probably swim 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m free and then whatever else fits in with these (medley/back)

My aims will be to take advantage of swimming in Sheffield (Haven't raced there since 2000!!!) and racing short course.

As with Steve a 57 would be nice in the 100m but a good 200 and 400 will be most likely because will be in heavy endurance work!

Also some British records! ;)

I think I'll be doing 6 events:

50 / 100 / 200 breaststroke
100 I.M.
100 Free

Actually, that will probably be it. Don't want to do anything else in a session with breaststroke in it.

Hello Everyone. First Time On This Site.
I`ve just started to train again after 10 years away from the sport.
Am very keen to compete in some Masters comps.
Any advice or tips.

Also, do you have to qualify (time wise) to enter sheffield ???

Hi Scott, welcome to the forums.

There are no qualifying times for the Nationals so just enter and come along (it'll be my first National Champs :D )

When is the closing date and where are all the details? I might consider going but it depends because until I get to uni I don't have a clue what I might be doing at this time. It would be nice to swim in Sheffield again though. It must be two and a half years since I was there last.:(
