Powerlung Homepage (http://www.powerlung.co.uk/home.htm)
The PowerLungŪ is the first in a line of products designed to be used by individuals, regardless of athletic ability and activity, to train lung muscles. PowerLungŪ is the only machine designed to specifically train the muscles you use to inhale and exhale in the same breath. The PowerLungŪ 2/30 Program (30 breaths twice a day) provides specific weight training for other muscle groups. PowerLungŪ uses advanced threshold resistance cells with independent adjustment controls which the user sets for training. Once the 30 repetitions can be comfortably completed at a given level of resistance, the user adds resistance just as with any weight training. The user can begin to feel the difference in just a few days and see results in just a few weeks. Individual results can vary and PowerLungŪ is specifically designed to be used for exercise only.

Mmmm... interesting. I can't say that I'm convinced by the proposition that the Powerlung can "train" lung function. The lungs aren't muscles, although the diaphragm and intercostals are. Does the Powerlung make any claims re asthma?
