In the interests of fairness to all regions, we should probably wait until all Regions have had their AGMs before disclosing the votes of other Regions to avoid prejudicing their voting
So can we just fill in the dates of the AGMs for the various Regions until we know when they've all been held?

I had a frightening experience at my pool today and one I don't want to have happen again, and wonder if other Clubbers have experienced it. I have Googled it and it seems to be a recognised issue..

The air temp around the poolside was boiling - and a lot of people commented on it - but the pool itself was coolish and clear (it has been warm and cloudy of late!). I did about 1400 m and then - bang- I started coughing badly and felt I couldn't breathe. I tried doing some gentle 50s and some kick but that didn't help - felt like my throat was burning/acidic and coughed as I breathed out on free. I tried using my inhaler (which I NEVER have to use unless I have a chest problem or a cold) but that didn't help. At one point, I did get quite frightened at the coughing and inability to catch a decent breath. I got out at 1750m as I really couldn't carry on.

The pool management used to pride themselves on using ozone to treat the water but we now think they have started to put chlorine in it (for quite a while now methinks). Google articles seem to suggest the cause could be due to warm air temp and poor circulation of air (mine is a windowless, low ceilinged pool) mixing with the chlorine causing chloramines to build up near the surface and swimmers breathe them in.

Does anyone else recognise this or experienced it? I did comment to the management and they say they'll look into it but I have a comp on Saturday and don't want to have another awful session before that!!!!!!!!

Whilst I was waiting to part with my £16 ( £12.50 also in parking ) at the weekend I had the pleasure of an official in the queue ahead of me - they where only in the queue to snatch a free program and claim their £120 expenses... plus parking which she would have to settle later, I know that's the ASA prescribed expense ruling but it has become an institution and in my view is inappropriate

That grates on me as a coach giving my time entirely freely - no catches, no expenses, no lunches - I mean a real actual volunteer ( odd concept ) that's 8 hours a week every week

They should publish the accounts of those meets at the front of the program just so that the people attending could see why it's £6 an event and £8 a day to get in

I think it is wrong to believe you give when in truth the result to the sport in many cases is net negative, there are many exceptions I am sure and my intention is not to upset @chrislamb and @noswimdad etc who are clearly bothered and interested enough to have a view and undoubtably add value as expected

I have moved this here so as not to hijack the worthy thread.

Here I can be slatted for speaking it how I see it

If your first swimmer is looking to qualify for Nationals from his relay split and takeover 3/4 causes the team to be disqualified can that first split be used.?

My thinking is as unlike an individual split off a 400IM/free the first swimmer has actually completed legally the portion and should therefore not be dq'd.

But then again if the 2nd takeover is early he would have to be DQ'd as technically the team was disqualified before he completed his portion.

Thoughts ......?

Apparently, Arena made some manufacturing "mistakes" when making these, and has agreed with FINA that approval for all of them can be withdrawn. It has now made legal versions to be distributed from tomorrow. Arena's press release on the matter can be found here.

If Mk 2 is available from tomorrow, I assume it would have taken months to get to this stage - i.e. taking time to correct the "mistake", manufacturing the new suits, shipping them etc. etc. yet, consumers were allowed to keep on buying the "faulty" suits; this really surprises me.

Anyway, it seems Arena is offering to swap Mk 1 for Mk 2 in the US, but not sure what will happen over here.
