Derbyshire/Peak District swimmings spots?

I'm planning a couple of weekends in the Derbyshire/Peak district area over the next couple of months or so with a group of friends whose main interest is walking. I want to combine the walking with places to swim. The plan is to have a big weekend meet-up in May and I'm sure some of the walkers might be persuaded to have a swim or two if I can locate us well.

Any suggestions for a good base?

We're looking at the Dovedale, Bakewell area at the mo but any local advice or suggestions would be very welcome, thanks.
