Speedo League Winners

Well done Stockport Metro...brilliant...all we need now is for Lancashire to win the National County Team Championship for the 6th consecutive time...and Manchester United to win the premiership

Well done to Stockport. I noticed that Hatfield came higher than Ipswich in the final but finished 2nd in the London league table. Also I spotted James Goddard down as winning 3 open individuals (200IM, 100 BK + BR). Did anyone notice him swim them all or was it just an entry mistake???

Congrats to Bracknell & Wokingham finishing an excellent 4th behind the other southern clubs Plymouth & Millfield.
And also well done to Hatfield also from the south for winning best supported club.

North West Region

Yes Stockport may be in Cheshire but please note that this message is under the title of the North West Region and Stockport is in that surely...never mind whoever swam at Sheffield...they all did well and should be very proud to have represented their club wherever they are from

Great finals, but like Gina, wondered if Goddard swam 3 individual events? Also Sophie Allen (Open 100 fly, 100 breast & 200IM) as I don't think Lizzie Simmonds was there. Lets hope Stockport Metro were the true winners.

Sophie is in the 15 age group so OK to swim up as many events as she can. Lizzie is listed as doing the open fly 1.07.97

I can confirm that James didn't swim 3 individuals - he only swam the medley and breaststroke - Simon Le Couillard (we think) swam the backstroke. Stockport made some changes to their line up form the draft programme and only some of them were picked up in the results - it confused the commentator as well!

Lizzie wasn't there - as with Stockport not all of the Lincoln changes made it into the results so it may well have been Sophie in that event but I couldn't say for sure.

It was a great event - the 10 team idea worked really well and although it was incredibly hot in there the atmosphere was superb!
Well done to Bracknell - they were outstanding, and of course to the winners and runners up!
We didn't do as well this time around ( ), but we will be back next year!!

Well done to Leatherhead too in the B final, with a great 3rd place!!

Congratulations to the other teams but you were lucky we weren't at full strength or it would of been a different story on the leader board, as already stated 'WE'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR' and stronger, there are no quitters here. Good to see certain clubs let the swimming talk for a change. We were a driven and focused team with gutsy and spirited performances by all the swimmers and supporters, well done to everyone, I hope being hoarse and dehydrated is a short lived side-effect.
Ruth I'm not quite sure why you think 3rd place in a 'B' final is great (did I miss something) but coming first in 15/u fly certainly is, wasn't his our only win? Congratulations.
More great news for us Guildfordians, a parent told me this weekend that Aldershot Garrison Pool is to be the South of England British Swimming Base with a full time office sited there and with the mighty Guildford City playing a key role in the set-up, excellent news, the only way is up.

I see some of you have not yet GROWN UP and removed the childish 'X amount of miles from Guildford' from your locations, its pathetic.

I find it difficult to read these sorts of things. Ruth made a very sportsmanlike remark towards another club - who are very proud of their achievements although obviously recognise that Guildford did brilliantly, and much better, to make it to the A final, no matter where they finished in that final. I just find it a bit demoralising to see these sorts of comments still popping up even though i thought everyone had put all this unpleasantness behind them - the swimmers are great friends it seems, and as I thought that was what all this was about, isn't that all that matters?

Sorry to hijack the thread for everyone else - and well done to Sam, Ruth, he did brilliantly
