FIRST Head Coach - Falkirk

FIRST - swim squad are looking for a new head coach - since there current coach Rob Lee is moving on to new pastures.

Information can be found on the scottish Swimming Website - www.scottishswimming.com

Excellent opportunity for any aspiring coach, plenty of pool time, good standard of swimmers and lots of potential.

I am teh swimming development officer for the area - I am just letting all good coaches know there is a good coaching opportuntiy available.
Last coach was great and has left the position is a very positive situation.

Thumbs up

Closing Date is looming, great opportunity for any ambitious coach - ther will be 11 pools in the area by August 2009, support from the local council (& myself) what more could you ask for.

www.scottishswimming.com to apply.

Where does the FIRST programme fit on the LTAD pathway? i.e. Swimskills, training to train, training to compete, training to win club? Are swimmers from it supposed to feed into Stirling? Or go all the way to the top staying at FIRST?

Neither of the last two coaches who had this post stayed in it very long. Coincidence and circumstances, or something else underlying that made them feel they had to get out?

Thats a bit negative!!!

I believe the program is benefiting the swimmers and it has proved positive results.

It allows the swimmers to fit into recommend training limits (LTAD) - which could never be achieved by either club alone.

If anyone wants to know where it fits into the LTAD program (including yourself Lane4) please don't hesitate to phone me at swimming development.

Like I said I think this is a great developmental opportunity for any aspiring coach, as for the the previous coaches - I am sure they would speak highly of both the program and those involved, it has a dynamic small committee looking to benefit the program and swimming within the Falkirk District area.

But thanks once again for keeping the post near the top of the threads.
