Last year after a summer of heavy training, my shoulders were absolutely shot and I ended taking 2 months out of the water. This year they've coped very well (admittedly on a lot less open water training), I still don't understand why - I was expecting to be in a lot of discomfort now after 2 attempts at the channel relay and 18 miles of the 2swim4life event, but am now back into full blown normal training without any issues.
Long may it last!! Training for next year starts now!

I sure you'll all agree that it's about time this thread is allowed to slip into the archives.
Chris, would you mind un-sticking the sticky? Cheers Stew |

Ii really do think that avoiding big mileage increases, too fast and rotating the unavoidable pressure on the shoulders are the preventative answer. |

Has the raffle been drawn yet?
I want to know who won the Green and Black's chocolate so I know who to be jealous of.

We've only sold a couple of hundred tickets, (obviously goods odds for those that have bought some so far) so thought it best to hold off until the Action Duchenne Conference at the end of this month.
I'll post up all the winning numbers by the end of the month. Sorry for the delay. Cheers Stew |

Above is a link to a 24 hour pool swim in Austria, that I came across on the USMS site. Unfortunately my German never was much good. And I thought there was only ever one mad Austrian. http://www.zeitnehmung.at/html/newCMS/results/252.pdf And this is the "results" page - by my reckoning 1390 "Runden" is 43.44 miles. But not many managed more than 773 "Runden" that makes 24. |
