How long involved in swimmings

Hi

Started nine years ago

Daughter finished council lessons and joined local club
only ever planned once a week - then son joined as well

Within twelve months both progressed to three sessions
a week

Then started winning medals at club championships and
swimming in local swimming league

Have been at county galas for last six years and will be
going with youngest one for another five year at least

Got involved with club on committee have done various roles
treasuer ,team manager ,poolside helper ,pr with press reports
organising coaches , fundraisng and stewarding at counties
and North Mids .

Many highs with kids County medals , regional champs twice (hoping
for third this time ) Top Boy/girl both inc twice top boy at North Mids

Also many high for club in arena league final first year at Manchester
two successive promotions , relegation from premier league and
last year just stayed up in div 1
This year in top six of arena league fingers crossed we reach the final
six/eight promotion final

As a parent i can appreciate the hard work coaches put in and how much
effort goes into running the club , both money and time

I've been swimming for 50 years.

Club swimmer and then University now Masters

I have been a committee Member at 2 Clubs.
Secretary at 1
Social organiser as a Master.
Now sort out the relays for Nationals and big meets for Trafford.

Oh yes I'm still swimming as well despite a bad back, sore shoulder, double hernia operation and the usual ear infections.

I'm a relative newcomer

2 daughters started around 6 years ago at a club and I did the occasional bit of TK for them

Started taking daughter No. 2 to opens around 5 years ago I giess, then started helping poolside, then took up the "call to arms" at her second club about 2 years ago and started the J1 course.

Now doing J2S and rarely have a weekend away from swimming

And that's on top of the regular trips to training that are mine (obviously all early mornings and further afield!)

Been there, done lots and lots with all my three clubs committees, despite saying never again. Trying to get out of the current committee as there is a lot of members that waffle for the sake of waffling.

I think that once you become involved in a club, the bug stays.

I've never been a swimmer - cricket's been my sport - but even that hasn't happened this year due to so much swimming!
