Excited today - just booked our Easter trip to Lanzarote.
I remember from our last visit that the best swimming areas were protected by spikey volcanic rock beaches. Can anyone recommend some wetsuit boots or similar that would be appropriate for navigating the spikey beach & shallows whilst not being too bulky to keep on whilst swimming? Ta |

Many winter swimmers wear wetsuit boots, mine are 5mm thick. Similar weight to a pair of trainers and you can buy a decent pair for £10-20. Neoprene foam has an open structure so boots and gloves etc. have to be rinsed in fresh water after use in the sea. Seawater will dry to leave sharp little salt crystals in the foam that over time literally grind the neoprene into a powder.

I recommend these have swum in them every time when on beach swims. You don't know you're wearing them and you can walk on shingle / rocks just fine. HTH
