Drinks

What's the best drink to have on training & competition days ?
I have only been having water but recently been told I should be intaking sugar to replace lost energy.
Whats the best thing to have ? Is it worth trying any of the branded energy drinks ?

Energy drinks are a good idea, you could but one, or make your own either using fruit juice and water, or mixing sugar, and a little salt into your water.

Probably the most important thing to remember is don't do anything new on a competition day. For some using an energy drink for the first time makes them feal sick, so practice everything before the competition.

You could try rehydration salts available from the chemists. Mix up with water to make a drink that will give the right proportions of NaCl, KCl and glucose. You can buy rehydration tablets if a drink isn't convenient.
