Based on my recent performance at Gloucester, I seem to be lacking a bit of 50m speed.
Not sure what club sessions we are doing in the lead up to the British (will find out tonight) but I need some set suggestions which will sharpen up my 50 free and fly in the next two weeks.

You have left it a bit late for speed work, you should have started a couple of weeks ago. Fitness should be in the bag, so no need to worry too much about fitness.

I would suggest 6 * 25 metres absolutely flat out no need to breathe on 25 metres. Take plenty of rest between swims so you can do them flat out, about three times a week. All you are doing is reminding your muscles how to sprint.

Thanks Alan. That's about the gist of advice I have been getting. Had. Club stint session last night which involved flat out 25's between easy 100's an alternate easy 25's.
Will be doing 5 sprint sessions based on advice this an next week before easing up the 5 days leading to the event.

Just recovered from my best GBs ever. Highest ever placing in an event with a 5th in the 50 fly, 3 PBs and one 2nd fastest ever time so am well chuffed. Said hi to TV and MJC, saw Adam LeLean and sorry if I missed anyone else. Good weekend all round and just got to keep it up for the Worlds in 5 weeks!! Hope everyone else was pleased with their swims

MJC was also there but don't mention her swims or anything to do with injured shoulders.
