Thanks, but if the swimmer in 4th is beaten by an out of country swimmer does their medal not count towards the team total?

Cyclic Shortage
Interesting observation, cyclic seeding does keep the big guns appart but as a consequence it automatically throws the younger swimmers into the outside lanes. Also the organisers have been fast and loose with heats dropping some to four lots of 8 swimmers or 3 lots of 9. Some folk headed for Ponds expecting great draws having worked back from fastest swimmer to find the double whammey of 8 swimmer heats and cyclic seeding had them out in the outside lanes.

I have noticed that cyclic seeding can benefit younger swimmers as they are pulled along by the faster guys so have someone to chase. Plus PF has lane ropes on both sides of outside lanes so minimises the backwash off the wall problems.
In the girls 800 free the top 2 girls in the 11/12 age group were both in outside or next to outside lanes. Last edited by swimclublurker; 24-07-2012 at 02:36 PM. |

Just back from NAGs and had a pretty good time, first time St. Ives Bay has been represented and the boy did good, a couple of swims where he didn't perform as well as he is capable of but that was expected as he has had a really stressful year and just isn't very fit. However, he did final in the 100 free and aquitted himself well, some of those boys are a bit big... what are the you feeding them up in Scotland Linny ? ;-)
Only criticisms are :- The Heat I think it was almost a 15 minute delay at the start of the boys 100 back with the swimmers waiting behind the blocks, threw my boy off completely but its something he needs to learn to deal with. The accreditation desk was brilliant, much to my surprise they got everything right and were quick and efficient.

I can never find all the swimmers I'm looking for in the programme before the heat is over and the results have disappeared off the scoreboard. |

My lad only had a heat this morning and when he finished he came over to join us on the spectator side. Interestingly he said that it was a lot hotter on our side than the swimmers side, is the aircon on over there?
