I'll be there on the Saturday. First experience of live international swimming, hopefully a taste of what's to come in London!

all tickets sold now by the looks of things.

BUT, what's happened to the GB and Italian/German team announcement - do we think there might be a few wranglings going on:
''We should have the best team possible",
"We demand our share of the swimmers (even though the other nation has plenty better)"
... no agreement on team colours!

Does some well-informed coach know what the GB part of the team will look like?

The European team will be announced early next week, according to my contacts in the Media Team.

According to my contacts (who actually happen to be picking the team) the team is far from finalised yet.

In that case I'll tell the Media Manager at British Swimming he has it wrong.

Never mind going to see Duel in the Pool, I'd like to see lane4 and JL squaring up - it'd be very exciting! (No idea who would win though, I know lane4 is too much of a gent to hit a woman.)

Does anyone know if any of this is going to be televised, or if results will be live online (a very poor substitute but better than nothing at all). For those of us who don't have tickets, it would be good to be able to follow the action even if we can't see it.

It must be an absolute nightmare of a task. It would be difficult enough to pick the best overall team even if everyone could go but if you have marked in some of the key players like Pellegrini, Biedermann and Stefen and they can't or won't go then the next ranked swimmer from their events might not be from that country so what do you do? You can't deselect someone from another country to redistribute the team to best effect and yet you still want to pick the strongest swimmers. To avoid this you would have to do the selection in stages or rounds and this is time consuming. This isn't uncommon I guess within Clubs and Counties to rearrange a team when a good swimmer pulls out but I can't think of any other circumstance where any negotiation would have to be done between nations.

Evidently not everyone is glued to that website, hence GF's question, to which I replied.
