Isn't this meet held every two years & alternating at home in the USA? If so it will be 2013 before its here again.
Good job the swimming ended when it did......Manchester was snowed in by 8pm!!

Stevie_K I've a feeling that old trick is not going to work anymore, especially if you keep that relationship with the dolphin going. Has Tiger Woods taught you nothing?

The previous events were:

2003 USA v Australia - Indianapolis, Indiana. Points: 196 - 74

2005 USA v Australia - Irvine, California. Points: 190 - 74

2007 USA v Australia - Sydney, Australia. Points: 181.5 - 129.5

I think we can be pretty sure that the Aussies won't want to be pushed out of this competition in future. I can't see the Americans wanting another 'duel' against a fragmented European team

I think it's already agreed for 2011 in the UK since the Americans want to come over again before the Olympics (but that's just what I've heard).

They should have a 3 way meet with the Aussies too - that would be awesome.

So lucky we decided to drive back the same day rather than stay over Sat night too. We would have been well & truly stuck. We seem to have been snow dodging the past few days as it was snowing in Petersfield when we left on Friday.
Just sleeting a bit here now but our road is very slippery.

Rosters are now up for this year's edition, and it looks like we could get some very highly entertaining racing. Women's 100M free should be better than any short course worlds we've gotten.

European team rosters here:

American rosters here:

This picture shows the temporary seating for the 2002 CG, it was the same at both ends. I guess they will build over the 23m part of the pool for the Duel, with it being SC.
They dont have a 23m bit the boom comes across to make 2 x 25m pools, the pool is actually 50m + the boom, whether its at one end or in the middle.

Has it been refurbished?

We're talking about Manchester, right? It certainly used to have fixed walls at each end, 50m apart, and the boom split it into 23m and 25m.

"The pool can be split to offer 25m and 23m swimming"

Who knows what's being talked about? Some of the latest comments seem to have been based on posts made in 2009.

I am always impressed by our very own HUGH PORTER ably assisted by his wife ANITA LONSBROUGH...

Lets hope they have been booked for the swimming at the London Olympics

Does anyone know if the Duel in the Pool happening today and tomorrow is available to watch anywhere online in the UK?

universalsports.com seems to only be for the US.
