It wouldn't help that sick swimmers were also adding a pathogenic load to the water.

Yep - they should have stuck to head-up breaststroke races and none of this new-fangled stuff

I'm really enjoying working at home, as I can be clicking away on my laptop while watching the swimming on the telly.

Some excellent swimming today with lots of home-nations swimmers making semis and finals. Too many to pick out one or two. Nice to see the younger swimmers also making good ground, and to hear them being interviewed afterwards alongside the more experienced swimmers.

But where's our lovely horsey lady today?

Tests have apparently proved the pool was not the source - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/comm...10/9068796.stm

Fantastic indeed!

I suppose we can forgive him now for missing tomorrow's first round of the Arena League.

Well done AJ - it really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Well done Marco Loughran. Despite suffering the mantle of being described as a Welshman on no less than three occurrences he made three finals. Just out of the medals today despite some very unseemly shouting and roaring from Leprechaun Towers.

I remember the days in Ireland back in the 70's when Irish records sometimes had the suffix (CG) or (OG) meaning of course a record set at what were the highest echelons of the sport. The people whose names were next to those records were nothing short of gods to us mortals.

In these days of semi-professional or more swimmers its easy to forget the scale of today's swimmers' achievements, medals or not. To be there, standing on the blocks in such a final must be any amazing feeling and to be there in the shakeout for the medals must be an unforgettable experience however it turns out.

I just head Colin Jackson talking about Steph Twell after her 1500m silver.

Greetings from Delhi

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the competition in the pool as much as the BBC Radio/TV team are..

Didn't quite get my predictions right tonight..thought we might pick up four, even five, golds..but that was offset a bit by some bonus medals.
Antony James and Georgia Davies swam out of their skins...Jaz Carlin likewise..and a thought for Anne Bochmann - acted as the pacemaker for Jaz in the end.

Can any of you tell me if you have ever seen three dead heats, at a meeting of this quality, in one session? And two back to back? Tissot are doing the timing here and not Omega. Just a point, by the way.

Best wishes

Bob Ballard

She was so nice in her poolside interview - congratulating Becky and Jaz, when she'd come away with nothing apart from an amazingly gutsy swim.
A star in the making.

Yes, she looked really happy with her 2-second pb. No Jo Jackson in that interview though - perhaps she had to dash off to the (blocked) loo!

Really good coverage on the Beeb, Bob, so you must have been whispering in the right ears.

And the left ones too, probably...

From what I've seen of Beeb coverage, y'all are lucky to have such a high quality coverage crew. Even that Sharon person everyone used to complain about is worlds better than the clueless basketball announcers plus Rowdy Gaines we typically get over here.
