So, who's still swimming in the cold snap

There's still swimming in the Serpentine. What other wild swimming is still going on around the country.

It does beg the question "is the Saturday morning racing at the Serps now officially known as Wildwimming?". Will leave others to answer that.

People are swimming every day at Tooting and I have every expectation of joining them on Sunday for the race if we can get through any snow that falls.

I'm swimming bare-skin outdoors as much as I can. Unfortunately my licence is suspended (stroke) so I'm depending on public transport or lifts from friends. I'm under doctor's orders to swim as much as I can - both indoors and outdoors.

Bare-skin winter swimming is a recognised discipline in its own right. In the UK RALSA represents wild swimming and non-competitive winter swimming.

Not me, brrrr! I am ashamed to admit that I am far too cowardly and my pain threshold is too low for me to contemplate outdoor winter swimming, as much as I would like to. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak! Therefore, regrettably, I am not one of this elite group. I shan't be venturing outdoors as far as swimming goes until April or May.

The past couple of times I'd rather curl up in bed than go swimming in freezing water, but it's essential for my rehabilatation.

Wetsuit, gloves, and booties. I'm not cold adapted, but I will happily swim in 0C water if I'm properly attired.

Llyn Aled on Saturday was lovely.

Blue Lagoon tonight on the way home from work too.

Dips rather than lengths, but it's all good!

Was out in R. Weaver yesterday, in my usual swimming place in Frodsham. I've been able to do "proper" swimming rather just "cold dipping".
