UK School Games ( sainsburys )

Just a link for anyone who may not have got this or may otherwise be interested.

http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/3500488BAF2F9088

Unable to report a ticket fiasco as it has been brilliantly organised. Parents get 4 free tickets to your childs event and 4 free tickets tot he closing ceremony. The athletes get a 4 day trip all found a special kit and a great experience to boot.

Well done Sainsburys and the UK School Games team

This is indeed a fantastic event for the kids, was team manager for Scotland North and South last year and again this year, not sure how much its promoted down south but not enough publicity up here as far as im concerned, bit unfortunate its slap bang in middle of scottish exams but all the kids going will have a fantastic time at this well organised event

Yep, my one swam the year before last but missed 2011 due to clash with Commonwealth Youth Games. She loved UKSG, multi-event competition with communal eating, games areas, drugs and healthy living education, own "digs" etc. It's a shame they reduced the age this year given she is still at school (Yr11). Seemed a strange decision as she is now too old for any other "Junior events" so would have been a nice farewell to her Junior career.......I don't think the UKSG got the attention/publicity it deserved but hopefully will be better promoted/publicised this year.

I would love to go but after the cost of going for swims at trials in March and then 5 days in Sunderland for the Scottish Age groups!! Then have Sheffield in July along with Scottish open at end of June which is more hotels etc. I just cant do anymore much as I want to.
Swimming has got to be one of the most expensive sports around!
