Crystal Palace

There are details of the consultation for the future of Crystal Palace at this link:
http://www.lda.gov.uk/server.php?show=nav.001002001004
It asks for comments - I think everyone should make their views known!
None of their options seem to include more than one pool but all comments are welcomed.
Closing date for consultation 11 October.

Did anyone go to the exhibition? Did it refer to the pool?

"A wide range of ideas will be exhibited in a marquee in the park from 18-26 September, but you can also view the exhibition and have your say through this website over the coming weeks"

Will fill out the comments section

I think this is the bit most people will be interested in:

http://www.lda.gov.uk/server.php?sho...590&viewPage=1

I think Study F looks the best, what is the point in keeping a listed building which serves little to no purpose when you can have a purpose built modern multi sport facility close to central London?

Also, can someone explain why the pool being 20m wide means it can't be used for accredited competition?!

Eight lanes only Bazza. Recent regulations require 10. Not sure how they got round it at Manchester though.

Manchester is 25m wide, even if it only has 8 lanes!! Surely that means it could have had 10 lanes, like sheffield?

Yes, but the pool has 10, so the outside two are left empty to reduce turbulence to the competitors in lanes 1 and 8.

I seem to recall that becasue the Commie games isn't under the auspices of FINA they can bend the rules and only have 8 lanes. Means that it will never host an international competition again though.
