music underwater ?!?
has anyone seen or tried the mp3 players that work underwater. One is by microsoft i think and the ear plugs look a bit rubbish, but theres this one that uses your cheek bones to get the sound to your inner ear. Sounds totally weird!! There both totally ?????? But if they work well then maybe it would be woth investing in one.

All your coach needs to do is get the coaches bolt-on; this means he can use his microphone to interrupt your listening anytime.

i am not to into music but that would be so cool if your coach could takl to you underwater and tell you what you were doing wrong in your stroke. It would save time in sessions where everyone is stopped to talk about what one person is doing wrong or what say 5 people are doing wrong, but just ringing thro and telling them would be gr8. do any clubs do this??

Swim shop? is it just a magazine or do they have a web site. ?170ish is alot, but if it works it would pay off in my results...longer workouts and swimming harder.

Plantman, please excuse us, no-one said welcome! So welcome to the forums
and do let us know how you find the player if you actually decide to get one. There are many who have been waffling on about it but haven't got round to getting one (I know, chief-of-munitions would have a fit - you know who you are... )

wow they sound so cool! My coach would love being able to shout at us when we were swimming. They are quite exspensive though. Do people think they are worth the money?

I've got one of the SwiMP3 ones that plays without 'ear'phones. Techinically it works really, really well - only criticisms would be that it needs recharging quite frequently and only plays MP3 and not WMA. It's great for just cruising but as soon as you start swimming hard I find that I'm concentrating so hard on what I'm doing I just don't listen to it. A bit like the guy who taught motorcylce racing said - you've got $20 to spend on concentration - do you want to spend it on watching the crowd or the next corner coming up at 150mph. Great for 5km ocean swims but I wouldn't bother for training sessions.
