It was OK; nice temp, not too warm. Not very good clarity but the further out I swam the clearer it was.

Mother Ivey's Bay yesterday. 13C. So perfect, it doesn't look real. You can just make out Joanne and me, centre right-ish, one yellow hat, one pink hat.

Mill pond.Dorset Stour.

Have been given permission by landowner, too use her property to access this mill pond on the Stour.Hopefully with a 'work crew' from the purbeck open water group, having a clean up,we can make it more accessible to other open water lovers.

That is beautiful, Pandi! Whereabout in Dorset is this? I don't know whether I'll be able to get down that way this year, but you will certainly have to accompany me there next year, if not before!

Durweston, Dave. The good news is,the landowner is more than happy for this to be opened up for outdoor swimmers as a whole.Need to have a good clear up,to make the access easier tho.plans are afoot to get this done, hopefully with a properly built platform by next summer,if your on FB check out the purbeck open water group,as we will be the ones getting it ready before putting it on the map,for the rest of the outdoor swimming community.Very, very few places on the Dorset Stour to have a swim.So chuffed the way this has turned out.

PS.Sorry folks.I didnt think the pic.would turn out SOOOOOOOOO large.

The Blandford Fly is more likely,to turn up in back gardens with water features, ponds these days Dave.EA did a good job with getting rid of the breeding grounds, back in the 90's.No local reports of bites, for nearly 10 years now, more chance of being bitten by one of the 'False' widow spiders, these days.Have been over there, this afternoon(despite the onset,of man-flu).Brilliant news, even the owner of the mill is,happy for people to swim there and even jump from the bridge into the pond.Do have pics, but they are large again .

In view of the goodwill of the owner towards us, I feel that we should stress that anyone using this spot must follow the country code at all times, in particular take all their rubbish home with them and NOT leave ANY litter.
