Talking Swimmer Names

We've heard a few nicknames for our British swimmers over the past week, I thought it might be nice to collect them all together:

- Rebecca 'Tough Cookie' Cooke
- Super Sarah Price

Of course, there are the real stars of the show too, Adrian Moorhouse and Andy Jameson, who one correspondant in the Telegraph likened to Morecombe and Wise.

There were others, but I can't remember them, so I'll let the rest of you add them, or just make up your own.

I liked the headline (not sure which paper it was in) that appeared after Cooke won the 800:

READY STEADY COOKE

How I laughed... Really pleased for her as well, as she is a thoroughly nice person all round.

Don't know about other Brits, although some original ones for the breaststrokers were 'Mewy' and 'Whitey'!!

I like the Asutralian breaststroke ones though - Adrian was obsessed with 'Lethal' Leisel Jones and Jim 'The Sniper' Piper!!

Alison Buzzsaw Sheppard? You guys are too funny with your nicknames. I can't think of any American swimmer that is known with a superlative nickname.

Mark Foster has been known to me as 'Foz' since I first met him in 1987 when he trained in Calgary and rented a room at my house along with the likes of Mike Fibbins, Luca Sacchi, and many other chloride-pickled swim nuts.
